Keep in mind that the Yorktown's fighters are not the squishy ones most CVs have. They are much tougher, it is one of the features of the US alternative CV line. Don't judge AA based on its inability to rapidly dispense with them as you can with other CV fighters.

We have Labor Day in NZ too it’s normally on a Monday and it celebrates the end of the 6 day week.

In USA Labor Day always falls on the first Monday in September and is a national holiday so most people have it off for a 3 day weekend. It started in 1882 so we've been doing it a long time.

Here’s one: in the US, we celebrate Cinco De Mayo (5th of may) and its a Mexican national holiday to remember their independence from France lmao.

At least "Labour Day" or "8 Hours Day" celebrates something that helped the "common man", namely mandating a fixed working day/week. "Mothers Day", "Fathers Day", "Valentines Day" are just made up retail events to promote spending. (I'd argue Christmas has become the same)

The US does have Labor Day, we invented it, AND we celebrate it as a long three day weekend, like most holidays. If a holiday falls during a week day (say the middle of the week) it's usually attached to the weekend before or the weekend after the event. Usually before.
